You must be considering some support while you deal with whatever difficult
feelings, relationships, anxiety, mental health issues or life events that brought you to
this site. I understand. These are brave steps to take.
Our couple counselling sessions helped to save our marriage.
The improvement in my mental health since having support from Annmarie is incredible and I feel confident again. My experience with her has been life changing!
Counselling can be the best thing you can do for yourself, even if the problems seem minor.
Counselling with Annmarie allowed me to put things into perspective and stopped me from making what could have been the biggest mistake of my life!
Speaking to Annmarie taught me to regain control of my story and put the spotlight back onto my wants and needs. She's genuinely changed my outlook on my life and I am so grateful.
Having counselling and someone to champion you and help you thrive is the best decision I made for my well-being.
I was very scared about starting therapy…from the very first session I felt safe and at ease talking to Annmarie.
Face to face
Walk and talk
Walk and talk sessions can begin and end at the counselling room, along our stunning local coastal paths, riversides and parks.
Appointments are booked for 1 hour
The duration of your counselling sessions depends on your unique needs.
We will discuss this at regular reviews.
If issues arise which are beyond my competence, I will refer you to someone who is better suited to your needs, where possible.
Plus the myriad of life’s challenges which can leave us in need of support.
If you are considering counselling but feel unsure, an exploratory call is a good way to start. It’s free and lasts no more than 20 minutes. It helps us get a sense of each other and whether I am a good fit for you, and your counselling needs. By the end of the call if you are happy to go ahead I will take some details, we will arrange your first appointment and I will send you a working agreement. Equally, you might want to go away and think about it, or decide I’m not for you.
I speak to every prospective client on the telephone ahead of our first session regardless.
There are many therapeutic approaches, but fundamentally, it is the relationship between client and therapist which will underpin successful therapy. This unique professional relationship allows you to feel you can work safely, at your own pace and in appropriate depth. It is unlike other relationships we experience, it has boundaries and is based on respect for the individual, confidentiality, trust, absolute focus on the client, empathy, integrity, ethics and non- judgement.
You need to be comfortable to speak about intimate personal issues you might not have talked about before. The counselling relationship between client and therapist is an alliance. I am the trained counsellor, you are the expert in yourself and your experiences. I’ll be alongside you as you make the changes you want in your life.
For me, being able to work with clients in this way is a privilege.
